CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Hatha Flow: LauraNidra Yoga combines the strength and accuracy of held postures with the grace of breath-directed movement sequences. Classes seamlessly marry the Ashtanga and Universal Traditions and are structured around the sun salutation to build strength, increase flexibility and develop mindfulness. Yoga Nidra Philosophy is infused into the practice offering a moving meditation that continues to unfold throughout the day. Students are invited to listen to their body and to move in a way that honors this deep and discerning wisdom.
Yin & Meditation This class balances the vigorous and intensely focused "yang" style yoga offered by Laura throughout the week with deep hip, shoulder and spine focused postures held for an extended length of time. This is a quiet and contemplative class done primarily in the seated, prone or supine position. No previous experience required.
Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra, or conscious sleep, is a profoundly relaxing yet transformative practice that is equivalent to four hours of regular, unconscious sleep. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of complete relaxation, not only for the physical body, but also for the deeper emotional and mental layers of being; it works at the root of stresses, allowing the release of subconscious tensions and tendencies that inhibit us from living to our full potential. No previous meditation experience required.
CLASS LEVELS
All Levels: Appropriate for beginners as well as more seasoned practitioners. Students are encouraged to work within their own ability and limitations in order to work safely and effectively. Beginning: Build on and review basic postures and breath techniques learned in Intro to Flow Series. Appropriate for those with little or no yoga experience. Intermediate: Not suitable for beginners. A fundamental understanding of the sun salutation, alignment and breath technique required for Intermediate classes. At least two year of consistent yoga practice recommended.
